Conversations With Writers is a Hillsboro, Oregon group that invites writers to read and tell us about their work and their writing methods. Basically, CWW is neither an open-mic nor a mere reading event - there are already an abundance of those in the greater Portland / Vancouver area. Usually, writers presenting at CWW events read their work, and audience members can ask questions about particular pieces, word choices, styles, or the writer's development of his / her art. It's an informal atmosphere to help us all better understand the craft of writing.
In other cases, guests have given classes in particular aspects of writing - methods of line-breaking or chapbook making, for examples.
We meet on the last Monday of every month except May (one week earlier because of Memorial Day) from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. For address, directions and maps, click on Finding Us above.
